✧ I performed the Farewell Pilgrimage with the Messenger of God ﷺ. I saw Bilal and Usamah; Bilal was leading his riding camel by its halter, and the other was holding up his garment to shade him from the heat, until he threw the pebbles at Jamrat al-ʿAqabah. Then he departed, having put his garment under his right armpit and over his left shoulder. I saw the protrusion of his right shoulder, like a gathering. He stood before the people and spoke at length. Among what he said was: 'If a maimed black slave is appointed over you and leads you by the Book of God, listen to him and obey.'
