حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، قَالَ: نَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ: نَا عِيسَى بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أُنَيْسٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عِيسَى بْنُ سَبْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ. عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ:

صَعِدَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ الْمِنْبَرَ، فَحَمِدَ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ، قَالَ: أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، لَا صَلَاةَ إِلَّا بِوُضُوءٍ، وَلَا وُضُوءَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرِ اسْمَ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ، وَلَمْ يُؤْمِنْ بِاللهِ مَنْ لَمْ يُؤْمِنْ بِي، وَلَمْ يُؤْمِنْ بِي مَنْ لَمْ يَعْرِفْ حَقَّ الْأَنْصَارِ

Translation

✧ One day the Messenger of God ﷺ ascended the pulpit, praised God, mighty and glorious, and extolled Him, then said: 'O people, there is no prayer without ablution, and no ablution for one who does not mention God’s name over it. He does not believe in God who does not believe in me, and he does not believe in me who does not acknowledge the right of the Anṣār.'
