She said: Umm Sunbulah al-Aslamiyyah came to my house, with a skin of milk that she was presenting as a gift to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She said: She put it down with me, and she had a cup with her. Then the Prophet ﷺ came in and said: "Welcome, and greetings to Umm Sunbulah." She said: May my father and mother be your ransom, I have brought you this skin of milk as a gift. He said: "May Allah bless you. Pour it for me into this cup." She said: So I poured it for him into the cup. When he took it, I said: You have said: I do not accept a gift from a Bedouin. He said: "The Bedouins of Aslam, O ʿĀʾishah, are not Bedouins; rather they are the people of our desert, and we are the people of their settled land. When we call them, they answer us, and when they call us, we answer them." Then he drank.
