أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُقْرِئُ، أَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَحْمَدَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيَّ، سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَلِيٍّ الْخُزَاعِيَّ،
فَذَكَرَهُ عَنْ بَعْضِ التَّابِعِينَ، قَالَ: " مَا أَكْرَمَ الْعِبَادُ أَنْفُسَهُمْ بِمِثْلِ طَاعَةِ اللهِ، وَلَا أَهَانَ الْعِبَادُ أَنْفُسَهُمْ بِمِثْلِ مَعْصِيَةِ اللهِ، وَحَسْبُكَ مِنْ صَدِيقِكَ أَنْ تَرَاهُ مُطِيعًا، وَحَسْبُكَ مِنْ عَدُوِّكَ أَنْ تَرَاهُ عَاصِيًا "
