حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاَءِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ بُرَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ؓ قَالَ
احْتَرَقَ بَيْتٌ بِالْمَدِينَةِ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَحُدِّثَ بِشَأْنِهِمُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَالَ: «إِنَّ هَذِهِ النَّارَ، إِنَّمَا هِيَ عَدُوٌّ لَكُمْ، فَإِذَا نِمْتُمْ فَأَطْفِئُوهَا عَنْكُمْ».

A house in Madinah burned down at night with its occupants inside. The Prophet ﷺ was informed about their situation, and he said: “This fire is only an enemy to you, so when you go to sleep, put it out for your safety.”
