أَخْبَرَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَمْدَانَ الصَّيْرَفِيُّ بِمَرْوَ ثنا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْبَلْخِيُّ ثنا مَكِّيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَيَّاشٍ وَأَبِي بَحْرِيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ
«أَلَا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِخَيْرِ أَعْمَالِكُمْ وَأَزْكَاهَا عِنْدَ مَلِيكِكُمْ وَأَرْفَعِهَا فِي دَرَجَاتِكُمْ وَخَيْرٌ لَكُمْ مِنْ إِعْطَاءِ الذَّهَبِ وَالْوَرِقِ وَأَنْ تَلْقَوْا عَدُوَّكُمْ فَتَضْرِبُوا أَعْنَاقَهُمْ وَيَضْرِبُوا أَعْنَاقَكُمْ؟» قَالُوا وَمَا ذَاكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ «ذِكْرُ اللَّهِ ﷻ» وَقَالَ مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ «مَا عَمِلَ آدَمِيٌّ مِنْ عَمَلٍ أَنْجَى لَهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ اللَّهِ مِنْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ ﷻ»

✧ “Shall I not inform you of the best of your deeds, the purest of them with your Sovereign, the loftiest of them in your ranks, and better for you than giving gold and silver, and better for you than that you meet your enemy and strike their necks and they strike your necks?” They said, “And what is that, O Messenger of Allah?” He said, “The remembrance of Allah ﷻ.” And Muʿādh b. Jabal said, “No human being performs a deed that is more saving for him from the punishment of Allah than the remembrance of Allah ﷻ.”
