Fatimah bint Abi Hubaish came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: "I am a woman who suffers from Istihadah and I never become pure. Should I stop praying?" He said: "No, that is a vein, it is not menstruation. When your period comes, stop praying, and when it goes, wash the blood from yourself and pray."

  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationHishām b. ʿUrwah narrates it, and there is disagreement about it from him. Al-Awzāʿī narrated it from Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd al-Anṣārī, from Hishām b. ʿUrwah, from his father, from Fāṭimah bint Qays, and he erred in it. The correct report is from Hishām, from his father, from ʿĀʾishah, that Fāṭimah bint Abī Ḥubaysh […]

  • Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr

machine translationHishām b. ʿUrwah, in the narration of Mālik and others, did not mention the menstrual period (qarʾ) in it, and Hishām is a better memorizer than the one who differed from him in that.
