أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ سَلْمٍ الْعَلَوِيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يُحَدِّثُ قَالَ
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَلَّمَا يُوَاجِهُ الرَّجُلَ بِالشَّيْءِ يَكْرَهُهُ قَالَ وَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ يَوْمًا رَجُلٌ وَعَلَيْهِ أَثَرُ الْخَلُوقِ وَالنَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَأْكُلُ الْقَرْعَ وَكَانَ يُعْجِبُهُ الْقَرْعُ فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ الرَّجُلُ قَالَ «لَوْ أَمَرْتُمْ هَذَا يَغْسِلُهُ»
Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ seldom confronted a man with something he disliked. One day a man entered upon him with traces of khaluq on him, and the Prophet ﷺ was eating gourd, which he liked. When the man left, he said: "If only you would order this man to wash it off."
