al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 9466

✧ Prohibition of wearing a ring on the index finger.

أَخْبَرَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ

«نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ أَتَخَتَّمَ فِي إِصْبَعِي هَذِهِ وَفِي الْوُسْطَى أَوِ الَّتِي تَلِيهَا» قَالَ لَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ «وَهَذَا أَوْلَى بِالصَّوَابِ مِنَ الَّذِي قَبْلَهُ»

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade me from wearing a ring on this finger of mine and on the middle finger, or the one next to it. Abu Abd al-Rahman said to us: "This is more worthy of being correct than the one before it."
