✧ Prohibition of wearing a ring on the index finger.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ

«نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْخَاتَمِ فِي هَذِهِ أَوْ هَذِهِ يَعْنِي السَّبَّابَةَ وَالْوُسْطَى» اللَّفْظُ لِابْنِ الْمُثَنَّى

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade me from the ring on this one or this one, meaning the index finger and the middle finger. The wording is that of Ibn al-Muthanna.
