✧ what is specific to Ali, apart from the former and latter from Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and a part of him, and the lady of the women of Paradise, except Maryam, the daughter of Imran.

أَخْبَرَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صُدْرَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلُ بْنُ خَلَّادٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَوَاءَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ السِّخْتِيَانِيِّ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

«لَمَّا زَوَّجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَاطِمَةَ مِنْ عَلِيٍّ كَانَ فِيمَا أَهْدَى مَعَهَا سَرِيرًا مَشْرُوطًا وَوِسَادَةً مِنْ أُدْمٍ حَشْوُهَا لِيفٌ وَقِرْبَةً» قَالَ وَجَاءُوا بِبَطْحَاءِ الرَّمْلِ فَبَسَطُوهُ فِي الْبَيْتِ؟ وَقَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ «إِذَا أَتَيْتَ بِهَا فَلَا تَقْرَبْهَا حَتَّى آتِيَكَ» فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَدَقَّ الْبَابَ فَخَرَجَتْ إِلَيْهِ أُمُّ أَيْمَنَ فَقَالَ لَهَا «ثَمَّ أَخِي؟» فَقَالَتْ وَكَيْفَ يَكُونُ أَخَاكَ وَقَدْ زَوَّجْتَهُ ابْنَتَكَ؟ قَالَ «فَإِنَّهُ أَخِي» قَالَ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ لَهَا «جِئْتِ تُكْرِمِينَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ؟» فَدَعَا لَهَا وَقَالَ لَهَا «خَيْرًا» قَالَ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «وَكَانَ الْيَهُودُ يُؤْخِذُونَ الرَّجُلَ عَنِ امْرَأَتِهِ إِذَا دَخَلَ بِهَا» قَالَ فَدَعَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِتَوْرٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ فَتَفَلَ فِيهِ وَعَوَّذَ فِيهِ ثُمَّ دَعَا عَلِيًّا فَرَشَّ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْمَاءِ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ وَصَدْرِهِ وَذِرَاعَيْهِ ثُمَّ دَعَا فَاطِمَةَ فَأَقْبَلَتْ تَعْثُرُ فِي ثَوْبِهَا حَيَاءً مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَفَعَلَ بِهَا مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهَا «إِنِّي وَاللهِ مَا آلَوْتُ أَنْ أُزَوِّجَكِ خَيْرَ أَهْلِي ثُمَّ قَامَ فَخَرَجَ»

✧ 'When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ married Fatimah to 'Ali, among what he gave with her was a bed with ropes, a leather cushion stuffed with palm fiber, and a water skin.' He said, 'And they brought soft sand and spread it in the house.' And he said to 'Ali, 'When you bring her, do not approach her until I come to you.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and knocked on the door. Umm Ayman came out to him. He said to her, 'Is my brother there?' She said, 'How can he be your brother when you have married your daughter to him?' He said, 'Indeed he is my brother.' Then he turned to her and said, 'Have you come to honor the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?' He supplicated for her and said good for her. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered. He said, 'The Jews used to keep a man away from his wife when he consummated the marriage with her.' He said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called for a basin of water, spat into it, and sought refuge in it. Then he called 'Ali and sprinkled some of that water on his face, chest, and forearms. Then he called Fatimah. She came stumbling in her garment out of shyness before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He did the same to her. Then he said to her, "By Allah, I have not failed to marry you to the best of my family." Then he stood and left.'
