أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ سَلْمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

لَمْ يَكْذِبْ إِبْرَاهِيمُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ قَطُّ إِلَّا ثَلَاثَ كَذَبَاتٍ ثِنْتَانِ فِي ذَاتِ اللهِ {فَنَظَرَ نَظْرَةً فِي النُّجُومِ فَقَالَ إِنِّي سَقِيمٌ} [الصافات 89] وَقَوْلُهُ فِي سُورَةِ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ {قَالَ بَلْ فَعَلَهُ كَبِيرُهُمْ هَذَا} [الأنبياء 63] قَالَ وَأَتَى عَلَى مَلِكٍ مِنْ بَعْضِ الْمُلُوكِ وَمَعَهُ امْرَأَةٌ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْهَا فَأَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهَا أُخْتُهُ قَالَ قُلْ لَهَا «تَأْتِيَنِي أَوْ مُرْهَا أَنْ تَأْتِيَنِي فَأَتَاهَا» فَقَالَ لَهَا إِنَّ هَذَا قَدْ سَأَلَنِي عَنْكِ وَإِنِّي أَخْبَرْتُهُ أَنَّكِ أُخْتِي وَإِنَّكِ أُخْتِي فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ ﷻ وَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مُؤْمِنٌ وَلَا مُؤْمِنَةٌ غَيْرِي وَغَيْرَكِ وَإِنَّهُ قَدْ أَمَرَكِ أَنْ تَأْتِيَهُ قَالَ «فَأَتَتْ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا فَضُغِطَ» فَقَالَ ادْعِي لِي وَلَكِ أَنْ لَا أَعُودَ قَالَ «فَخُلِّيَ عَنْهُ فَعَادَ» قَالَ فَضُغِطَ مِثْلَهَا أَوْ أَشَدَّ قَالَ «ادْعِي لِي وَلَكِ أَلَّا أَعُودَ» قَالَ فَخُلِّيَ عَنْهُ فَأَمَرَ لَهَا بِطَعَامٍ وَأَخْدَمَهَا جَارِيَةً يُقَالُ لَهَا هَاجَرُ فَلَمَّا أَتَتْ إِبْرَاهِيمُ قَالَ «مَهْيَمْ» فَقَالَتْ كَفَى اللهُ كَيْدَ الْكَافِرِ الْفَاجِرِ وَأَخْدَمَ جَارِيَةً قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ «تِلْكَ أُمُّكُمْ يَا بَنِي مَاءِ السَّمَاءِ وَمَدَّ بِهَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ صَوْتَهُ»

✧ Ibrahim ﷺ never lied except for three lies: two of them for the sake of Allah, as in His saying: {And he cast a glance at the stars, and said: 'I am sick.'} [al-Saffat: 89], and his saying in Surat al-Anbiya': {He said: 'Rather, this, the largest of them, did it.'} [al-Anbiya': 63]. He said: And he came to a king among the kings, and with him was a woman. He asked him about her, and he told him that she was his sister. He said: Tell her to come to me, or command her to come to me. So he came to her and said to her: 'This man asked me about you, and I told him that you are my sister, and you are my sister in the Book of Allah ﷻ. And there is no believing man or believing woman on earth other than me and you. And he has commanded you to come to him.' He said: So she came, and he looked at her and was seized. He said: 'Pray for me and for yourself that I will not do it again.' He said: So he was released, but he returned. He said: So he was seized similarly, or more severely. He said: 'Pray for me and for yourself that I will not do it again.' He said: So he was released, and he ordered food for her and gave her a servant girl named Hajar. When she came to Ibrahim, he said: 'What is the matter?' She said: 'Allah has sufficed the cunning of the wicked disbeliever and gave a servant girl.' Abu Hurayrah said: 'That is your mother, O children of the water of the sky.' Ibn Awn raised his voice with it.
