✧ Prophet's saying "If it were not for the migration, I would have been one of the Ansar.

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ

قَالَتِ الْأَنْصَارُ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ «إِنَّ سُيُوفَنَا تَقْطُرُ مِنْ دِمَاءِ قُرَيْشٍ وَيَذْهَبُ هَؤُلَاءِ بِالْغَنَائِمِ خَاصَّةً» فَقَالَ «مَا الَّذِي بَلَغَنِي عَنْكُمْ؟» وَكَانُوا لَا يَكْذِبُونَ قَالَ «هُوَ الَّذِي بَلَغَكَ» فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَمَا تَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ هَؤُلَاءِ بِالْغَنَائِمِ إِلَى بُيُوتِهِمْ وَتَذْهَبُونَ بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى بُيُوتِكُمْ؟» قَالَ وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَوْ سَلَكَتِ الْأَنْصَارُ وَادِيًا أَوْ شِعْبًا لَسَلَكْتُ وَادِيَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَوْ شِعْبَهُمْ»

✧ On the day of the conquest of Makkah, the supporters said: "Our swords are dripping with the blood of Quraysh, while these [men] are taking the spoils for themselves." He said: "What is this that has reached me about you?" They were not people who lied. They said: "It is what reached you." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Are you not pleased that these [men] take the spoils to their houses while you take the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to your houses?" He said: And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "If the supporters were to traverse a valley or a mountain pass, I would traverse the valley of the supporters or their pass."
