✧ The Prophet's love for the Ansar

أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ خَرَجَ يَوْمًا عَاصِبًا رَأْسَهُ فَتَلَقَّاهُ ذَرَارِيُّ الْأَنْصَارِ وَخَدَمُهُمْ مَا هُمْ بِوُجُوهِ الْأَنْصَارِ قَالَ «وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّكُمْ مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا» ثُمَّ قَالَ «إِنَّ الْأَنْصَارَ قَدْ قَضَوَا الَّذِي عَلَيْهِمْ وَبَقِيَ الَّذِي عَلَيْكُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا إِلَى مُحْسِنِهِمْ وَتَجَاوَزُوا عَنْ مُسِيئِهِمْ»

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ came out one day with his head bandaged, and the children of the supporters and their servants met him—not the notable men of the supporters. He said: "By the One in whose hand is my soul, I love you—" twice or three times. Then he said: "The supporters have fulfilled what was upon them, and what remains is upon you, so do good to their good-doers and overlook their wrongdoers."
