✧ We went out as a delegation to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ, and we pledged allegiance to him, prayed with him, and informed him that in our land there was a church belonging to us. We asked him for a gift from the leftover water of his purification. He called for water, performed ablution, rinsed his mouth, then poured it for us into a water skin. He commanded us, saying: "Go forth, and when you reach your land, demolish your church, sprinkle its site with this water, and make it a mosque." We said to him: "The land is far, the heat is intense, and the water will dry up." He said: "Add water to it, for it will only increase it in goodness." So we went out until we arrived at our land. We demolished our church, then sprinkled its site and made it a mosque, and we called the adhan in it. The narrator said: The monk was a man from Tayyi', and when he heard the adhan, he said: "A call of truth." Then he headed toward a valley of our valleys, and we never saw him again.
