أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَيْمَنَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ نَابِلٍ الْمَكِّيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي فَاطِمَةُ عَنْ أُمِّ كُلْثُومٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ

«عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْبَغِيضِ النَّافِعِ التَّلْبِينَةِ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ إِنَّهَا لَتَغْسِلُ بَطْنَ أَحَدِكُمْ كَمَا يَغْسِلُ الْوَسَخَ مِنْ وَجْهِهِ بِالْمَاءِ» قَالَتْ وَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا اشْتَكَى أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِهِ لَمْ تَزَلْ الْبُرْمَةُ عَلَى النَّارِ حَتَّى يُقْضَى عَلَى أَحَدِ طَرَفَيْهِ إِمَّا مَوْتٌ وَإِمَّا حَيَاةٌ قَالَ رَوْحٌ فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ أَبِي لَيْثٍ وأُمُّ كُلْثُومٍ بِنْتُ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي عَقْرَبٍ

✧ “You should take the disliked but beneficial talbīnah. By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, it washes the stomach of one of you just as one washes dirt from his face with water.” She said: When anyone of his family complained, the Prophet ﷺ would not cease to have the cooking pot on the fire until the matter was decided at one of the two ends: either death or life. Rawh said: Fatimah bt. Abi Layth and Umm Kulthum bt. ‘Amr b. Abi ‘Aqrab.
