أَخْبَرَنِي زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ عَنْ أُمِّهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَخَذَ أَهْلَهُ الْوَعَكُ أَمَرَ بِالْحِسَاءِ فَصُنِعَ ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُمْ فَحَسَوْا مِنْهُ وَيَقُولُ «إِنَّهُ لَيَرْتُو فُؤَادَ الْمَرِيضِ وَيَسْرُو عَنْ فُؤَادِ السَّقِيمِ كَمَا يَسْرُو أَحَدُكُمُ الْوَسَخَ بِالْمَاءِ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ»
Translation

✧ When fever afflicted any of his family, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would order soup to be prepared, then he would order them and they would sip from it. And he would say: “It revives the heart of the sick person and relieves the heart of the ill one, just as one of you removes dirt with water from his face.”
