✧ Swearing an oath by a single witness

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ حَمَّارٍ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ وَجَدَ لُقُطَةً فَلْيُشْهِدْ ذَا عَدْلٍ أَوْ ذَوِي عَدْلٍ ثُمَّ لَا يُغَيِّرْ وَلَا يَكْتُمْ فَإِنْ جَاءَ رَبُّهُمْ فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهَا وَإِلَّا فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ مَالُ اللهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Whoever finds a lost item, let him have a just witness or two just witnesses testify, then let him not alter it or conceal it. If its owner comes, he is more entitled to it. Otherwise, it is God's property, which He gives to whom He wills.'
