أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ السَّلَامِ بْنُ عَتِيقٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَيَّاشٍ وَسُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ قَيْسٍ الْمَأْرَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبْيَضَ بْنِ حَمَّالٍ قَالَ

اسْتَقْطَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَعْدِنَ الْمِلْحِ الَّذِي بِمَأْرِبَ فَأَقْطَعَنِيهِ فَقِيلَ إِنَّهُ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الْمَاءِ الْعِدِّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «فَلَا إِذًا» أَسْنَدَهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ قَيْسٍ

✧ I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to grant me the salt mine that is in Ma'rib, and he granted it to me. It was said: "It is in the position of abundant water." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Then no." Muhammad b. Yahya b. Qays traced it back.
