أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ الْمِصْرِيُّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَتْ كَانَتْ فِي بَرِيرَةَ ثَلَاثُ سُنَنٍ فَكَانَ إِحْدَى السُّنَنِ الثَّلَاثِ أَنَّهَا أُعْتِقَتْ فَخُيِّرَتْ فِي زَوْجِهَا وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْوَلَاءُ لِمَنْ أَعْتَقَ» وَدَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَالْبُرْمَةُ تَفُورُ بِلَحْمٍ فَقُرِّبَ إِلَيْهِ خُبْزٌ وَأُدْمٌ مِنْ أُدْمِ الْبَيْتِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَلَمْ أَرَ الْبُرْمَةَ فِيهَا لَحْمٌ؟» فَقَالُوا بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ذَلِكَ وَلَكِنْ لَحْمٌ تُصُدِّقَ بِهِ عَلَى بَرِيرَةَ وَأَنْتَ لَا تَأْكُلُ الصَّدَقَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «هُوَ عَلَيْهَا صَدَقَةٌ وَهُوَ لَنَا هَدِيَّةٌ»

✧ From Aisha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, she said: There were three Sunnahs concerning Barirah. One of the three Sunnahs was that she was freed and given a choice regarding her husband. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Wala belongs to the one who frees.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered while a pot was boiling with meat, and bread and some condiment from the household were brought near to him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Did I not see the pot with meat in it?” They said, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah, but it is meat that was given as charity to Barirah, and you do not eat charity.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “It is charity for her, but it is a gift for us.”
