✧ The choice of the two slaves is freed

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ رَاهَوَيْهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مَوْهِبٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ كَانَ لِعَائِشَةَ غُلَامٌ وَجَارِيَةٌ قَالَتْ فَأَرَدْتُ

أَنْ أُعْتِقَهُمَا فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «ابْدَئِي بِالْغُلَامِ قَبْلَ الْجَارِيَةِ»

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Isḥāq b. Ibrāhīm b. Rāhawayh
  2. Ḥammād b. Masʿadah
  3. Ibn Mawhib
  4. al-Qāsim b. Muḥammad

✧ That she should free them, and I mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said, “Start with the boy before the girl.”
