✧ What is prohibited through breastfeeding?

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ هُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ عَلِيًّا قَالَ

لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي ابْنَةِ حَمْزَةَ وَذَكَرَ مِنْ جَمَالِهَا فَقَالَ «إِنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ» ثُمَّ قَالَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ «أَوَ مَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ اللهَ حَرَّمَ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ مَا حَرَّمَ مِنَ النَّسَبِ؟» لَمْ يَسْمَعْهُ سَعِيدٌ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ

✧ Regarding the Prophet ﷺ and the daughter of Hamzah, and he mentioned her beauty, he said: "She is the daughter of my brother through breastfeeding." Then the Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: "Do you not know that Allah has prohibited through breastfeeding what He has prohibited through lineage?" Sa'id did not hear it from 'Ali b. Zayd.
