أَخْبَرَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَبَايَةَ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ
كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَتَقَدَّمَ سَرَعَانُ النَّاسِ فَتَعَجَّلُوا مِنَ الْغَنَائِمِ فَاطَّبَخُوا وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي آخِرِ النَّاسِ فَمَرَّ بِالْقُدُورِ فَأَمَرَ بِهَا فَأُكْفِئَتْ ثُمَّ قَسَمَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَعَدَلَ بَعِيرًا بِعَشْرِ شِيَاهٍ فَنَدَّ بَعِيرٌ مِنْ إِبِلِ الْقَوْمِ وَلَيْسَ مَعَهُمْ خَيْلٌ فَرَمَاهُ رَجُلٌ بِسَهْمٍ فَحَبَسَهُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ لِهَذِهِ الْبَهَائِمَ أَوَابِدَ كَأَوَابِدِ الْوَحْشِ فَمَا فَعَلَ مِنْهَا هَذَا فَافْعَلُوا بِهِ هَذَا»

✧ We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey. The swift ones among the people went ahead and hurried to the spoils and cooked them, while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was among the last of the people. He passed by the cooking pots and ordered that they be overturned. Then he distributed among them and made one camel equal to ten sheep. Then a camel from the people's camels bolted, and they had no horses with them. A man shot it with an arrow and stopped it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "These animals have wild tendencies like those of wild game, so if one of them does this, then do this to it."
