al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 3304

✧ What is recommended for the fasting person to break their fast?

أَخْبَرَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ حِزَامٍ التِّرْمِذِيُّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى وَهُوَ ابْنُ آدَمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ رَقَبَةَ عَنْ بُرَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ «يَبْدَأُ إِذَا أَفْطَرَ بِالتَّمْرِ» هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ رَوَاهُ شُعْبَةُ عَنْ بُرَيْدٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مُرْسَلًا وَشُعْبَةُ أَحْفَظُ مِمَّنْ رَوَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ used to "begin with dates when he broke his fast." This hadith was narrated by Shu'bah from Burayd from the Prophet ﷺ as mursal, and Shu'bah is more retentive than the one who narrated this hadith.
