أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ زُرَارَةَ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنِ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَتْ

أَتَانًا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ نُغَسِّلُ ابْنَتَهُ فَقَالَ «اغْسِلْنَهَا ثَلَاثًا أَوْ خَمْسًا أَوْ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ إِنْ رَأَيْتُنَّ ذَلِكَ بِمَاءٍ وَسِدْرٍ وَاجْعَلْنَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ كَافُورًا أَوْ شَيْئًا مِنْ كَافُورٍ فَإِذَا فَرَغْتُنَّ فَآذِنَّنِي» فَلَمَّا فَرَغْنَا آذَنَّاهُ فَأَلْقَى إِلَيْنَا حِقْوَهُ فَقَالَ «أَشْعِرْنَهَا إِيَّاهُ» قَالَ وَقَالَتْ حَفْصَةُ اغْسِلْنَهَا ثَلَاثًا أَوْ خَمْسًا أَوْ سَبْعًا قَالَ فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ عَطِيَّةَ مَشَطْنَاهَا ثَلَاثَةَ قُرُونٍ أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ وَقَالَتْ حَفْصَةُ عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ جَعَلْنَا رَأْسَهَا ثَلَاثَةَ قُرُونٍ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَتْ وَجَعَلْنَا رَأْسَهَا ثَلَاثَةَ قُرُونٍ 2030/ 1 أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ وَقَالَتْ حَفْصَةُ عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ جَعَلْنَا رَأْسَهَا ثَلَاثَةَ قُرُونٍ 2030/ 2 أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَتْ وَجَعَلْنَا رَأْسَهَا ثَلَاثَةَ قُرُونٍ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us while we were washing his daughter and said: "Wash her three, five, or more times if you see fit, with water and sidr, and put camphor or some camphor in the last wash. When you finish, inform me." When we finished, we informed him, and he threw his waist-wrapper to us and said: "Wrap her in it." He said: And Hafsah said: Wash her three, five, or seven times. He said: Then Umm 'Atiyyah said: We combed her hair into three locks. Qutaybah informed us, he said: Hammad narrated to us from Ayyub, and Hafsah said from Umm 'Atiyyah: We made her head into three locks. Muhammad b. Mansur informed us, he said: Sufyan narrated to us, he said: Ayyub narrated to us from Muhammad, he said: Hafsah informed me from Umm 'Atiyyah, she said: And we made her head into three locks. 2030/1 Qutaybah informed us, he said: Hammad narrated to us from Ayyub, and Hafsah said from Umm 'Atiyyah: We made her head into three locks. 2030/2 Muhammad b. Mansur informed us, he said: Sufyan narrated to us, he said: Ayyub narrated to us from Muhammad, he said: Hafsah informed me from Umm 'Atiyyah, she said: And we made her head into three locks.
