✧ A young daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was dying, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took her and held her to his chest, then placed his hands on her, and she passed away while she was before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Umm Ayman wept, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her: 'O Umm Ayman, do you weep while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is with you?' She said: 'Why should I not weep when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is weeping?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'I am not weeping; rather it is mercy.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The believer is in good in every state: his soul is drawn out from between his sides while he praises Allah.' Abu Abd al-Rahman said to us: Ata b. al-Sa'ib had become confused, and the most reliable in his narrations are Sufyan al-Thawri and Shu'bah b. al-Hajjaj.
