✧ Rain failed for a year, and some of the Muslims stood up to the Prophet ﷺ on a Friday and said: O Messenger of God, rain has failed, the land has become barren, and livestock have perished. He said: He raised his hands, and we saw no cloud in the sky. He stretched out his hands until I saw the whiteness of his armpits, supplicating God for rain. We had not finished the Friday prayer before a young man living nearby was concerned about returning to his family. He said: It continued for a week. When the next Friday came, they said: O Messenger of God, houses have collapsed and travelers are detained. He said: “He smiled at the quickness of the son of Adam’s weariness and said with his hand: ‘O God, around us and not upon us.’ Then the clouds dispersed from Madinah.”
