✧ My father sent me to the Prophet ﷺ concerning some camels he had given him from the zakah camels. When I came to him—it was the night of Maymunah, and Maymunah was Ibn 'Abbas's maternal aunt—he went to the mosque and prayed 'isha, then came and threw off his garment, then entered with his wife in her garments. I took my garment and folded it beneath me, then lay down on it. Then I said: 'I will not sleep tonight until I see what Allah's Messenger ﷺ does.' He slept until he snored, until as much of the night had passed as Allah willed. Then he got up and went out and urinated. Then he came to a waterskin that was tied, untied its string, poured water on his hands, then stepped on the mouth of the waterskin and began washing his hands. Then he performed ablution until he finished. I wanted to get up and pour water for him, but I was afraid he would omit that night because of me. Then he stood to pray, so I got up and did the same as he had done. Then I came to him and stood on his left, so he took me by the hand and made me stand on his right. 'He prayed thirteen rak'ahs, then lay down until Bilal came to him and called the adhan for the prayer. Then he got up and prayed two rak'ahs before dawn.'" Sa'id b. Jubayr contradicted him.
