✧ Abu al-Darda' fell unconscious, then regained consciousness, and there was Bilal, his son, with him. He said: “Get up and leave me.” Then he said: “Who will act for the likes of this resting place of mine? Who will act for the likes of this hour of mine?” {We will turn their hearts and their eyes away [from the truth], just as they did not believe in it the first time, and We will leave them in their transgression, wandering blindly} [al-An'am 110]. “You refused.” Then he would fall unconscious, remain for some time, then regain consciousness and say the like of that, and he kept repeating it until he passed away.
