أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ هُرْمُزَ قَالَ كَتَبَ نَجْدَةُ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ يَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ أَشْيَاءَ فَشَهِدْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ حِينَ قَرَأَ كِتَابَهُ وَحِينَ كَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ «إِنَّكَ سَأَلْتَ
عَنْ سَهْمِ ذِي الْقُرْبَى الَّذِي ذَكَرَهُ اللهُ مَنْ هُمْ؟ وَإِنَّا كُنَّا نَرَى أَنَّ قَرَابَةَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ هُمْ نَحْنُ» فَأَبَى ذَلِكَ عَلَيْنَا قَوْمُنَا

✧ About the arrow of the relative whom Allah mentioned, who are they? And indeed, we used to perceive that the kinsfolk of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ are us." So, our people refused that.
