أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَيَحْيَى بْنُ مُوسَى وَهَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَوْسِ بْنِ الْحَدَثَانِ
عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ «كَانَتْ أَمْوَالُ بَنِي النَّضِيرِ مِمَّا أَفَاءَ اللهُ عَلَى رَسُولِهِ مِمَّا لَمْ يُوجِفْ الْمُسْلِمُونَ عَلَيْهِ بِخَيْلٍ وَلَا رِكَابٍ فَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُنْفِقُ مِنْهَا عَلَى أَهْلِهِ نَفَقَةَ سَنَةٍ وَمَا بَقِيَ جَعَلَهُ فِي السِّلَاحِ وَالْكُرَاعِ عُدَّةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ»

✧ from ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb: “The wealth of Banū al-Naḍīr was among that which God restored to His Messenger, that which the Muslims did not spur on with horses or riding camels. The Messenger of God ﷺ used to spend from it on his family, a year’s maintenance, and what remained he made into weapons and horses, as equipment in the path of God.”
