أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ طَاوُسًا يَقُولُ سُئِلَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ

عَنْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ {قُلْ لَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِلَّا الْمَوَدَّةَ فِي الْقُرْبَى} [الشورى 23] قَالَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ قُرْبَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ عَجِلْتَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمْ يَكُنْ بَطْنٌ مِنْ بُطُونِ قُرَيْشٍ إِلَّا وَلَهُ فِيهِمْ قَرَابَةٌ فَقَالَ «إِلَّا أَنْ تَصِلُوا مَا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُمْ مِنَ الْقَرَابَةِ»

✧ Regarding this verse: {Say: I do not ask you for any reward for it, except love for kinship} [al-Shura 23]. Saʿīd b. Jubayr said: “The kinship of the family of Muhammad ﷺ.” Ibn ʿAbbās said: “You were hasty. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was not from any clan of Quraysh except that he had kinship with them, so he said: ‘Except that you maintain the kinship between me and them.’”
