أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شِبْلٌ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا قَزْعَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَمْرَو بْنَ دِينَارٍ عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
أَنَّهُ جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ إِنِّي حَلَفْتُ بِعَدَدِ أَصَابِعِي أَلَّا أَتَّبِعَكَ وَلَا أَتَّبِعَ دِيْنَكَ فَأَنْشُدُكَ اللهَ مَا الَّذِي بَعَثَكَ اللهُ بِهِ؟ قَالَ «الْإِسْلَامُ شَهَادَةُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ وَتُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ وَتُؤْتِي الزَّكَاةَ أَخَوَانِ نَصِيرَانِ لَا يَقْبَلُ اللهُ مِنْ أَحَدٍ تَوْبَةً أَشْرَكَ بِاللهِ بَعْدَ إِسْلَامِهِ» قَالَ فَمَا حَقُّ زَوْجَةِ أَحَدِنَا عَلَيْهِ؟ قَالَ «تُطْعِمُهَا إِذَا طَعِمْتَ وَتَكْسُوَهَا إِذَا اكْتَسَيْتَ وَلَا تَضْرُبِ الْوَجْهَ وَلَا تُقَبِّحْهُ وَلَا تَهْجُرْ إِلَّا فِي الْبَيْتِ» وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى الشَّامِ فَقَالَ «هَاهُنَا إِلَى هَاهُنَا تُحْشَرُونَ رُكْبَانًا وَمُشَاةً وَعَلَى وُجُوهِكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَلَى أَفْوَاهِكُمُ الْفِدَامُ تُوفُونَ سَبْعِينَ أُمَّةً أَنْتُمْ آخِرُهَا وَأَكْرَمُهُمْ عَلَى اللهِ وَإِنَّ أَوَّلَ مَا يُعْرِبُ عَلَى أَحَدِكُمْ فَخِذُهُ»

✧ He came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Muhammad, I swore by the number of my fingers that I will not follow you or follow your religion. I adjure you by Allah: what is it that Allah sent you with?' He said: 'Islam: the testimony that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and to establish prayer and give zakah. Two brothers, two helpers; Allah does not accept the repentance of anyone who associates partners with Allah after his Islam.' He said: 'What is the right of the wife of one of us upon him?' He said: 'Feed her when you eat, clothe her when you clothe yourself, do not strike the face or vilify it, and do not shun her except in the house.' He pointed with his hand toward Syria and said: 'From here to here you will be gathered, riding and on foot and on your faces on the Day of Resurrection; on your mouths will be a bit. You will complete seventy nations, and you are the last of them and the most honored before Allah. The first part of one of you to speak will be his thigh.'
