أَخْبَرَنِي هِلَالُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْمُهَلَّبِ بْنِ أَبِي صُفْرَةَ قَالَ وَهُوَ يَخَافُ
أَنْ تُبَيِّتَهُ الْحَرُورِيَّةُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ حَفَرَ الْخَنْدَقَ وَهُوَ يَخَافُ أَنْ يُبَيِّتَهُ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ «إِنْ بُيِّتُّمْ فَإِنَّ دَعْوَاكُمْ حم لَا يُنْصَرُونَ»

✧ That the Haruriyyah would launch a night attack against him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ dug the Trench while fearing that Abu Sufyan would launch a night attack against him. “If you are attacked at night, then your call is: ‘Ha-Mim, they will not be helped.’”
