✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught us two sermons: the sermon of prayer and the sermon of need. As for the sermon of need: "Praise be to Allah; we seek His help and His forgiveness, and we seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our own selves. Whoever Allah guides, none can mislead, and whoever He sends astray, none can guide. I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah, and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger." [183] Zuhayr considered it mawquf. 10251 Amr b. Ali informed us; Khalaf b. Tamim narrated to us from Zuhayr; Abu Ishaq narrated to us from Abu al-Ahwas from Abdullah who said: "When one of you intends to deliver the sermon of need, let him begin by saying: 'Indeed all praise is for Allah; we seek His help...'" the like of it exactly, and he said: "alone, with no partner." Shu'bah differed from both of them and narrated from Abu Ishaq from Abu Ubaydah from Abdullah.
