أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ يُونُسَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُرَحْبِيلٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ عِبَادَةَ قَالَ
جَاءَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِلَى سَعْدٍ فَقَالَ «السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ» فَرَدَّ سَعْدٌ وَخَافَتَ فَلَمَّا رَأَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ لَا يُؤْذِنُ لَهُ انْصَرَفَ فَخرَجَ سَعْدٌ فِي إِثْرِهِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا مَنَعَنِي أَنْ أُسْمِعُكَ إِلَّا أَنِّي أَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ أَسْتَكْثِرَ مِنْ تَسْلِيمِكَ فَرَجَعَ مَعَهُ فَوَضَعَ لَهُ مَاءً فِي جَفْنَةٍ فَاغْتَسَلَ ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِمِلْحَفَةٍ مَصْبُوغَةٍ بِوَرْسٍ فَالْتَحَفَ بِهَا كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى الْوَرْسِ فِي عُكْنَةِ جَنْبِهِ فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى الْأَنْصَارِ وَعَلَى ذُرِّيَّةِ الْأَنْصَارِ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ came to Sa'd and said: "Peace be upon you." Sa'd returned the greeting but lowered his voice. When the Prophet ﷺ saw that he was not being given permission, he turned away. Sa'd went out after him and said: "O Messenger of Allah, nothing prevented me from making you hear except that I loved to receive more of your salutation." So he returned with him, and Sa'd placed water for him in a large bowl, and he bathed. Then he asked for a dyed sheet with wars (yellow dye), and he wrapped himself in it. It is as if I am looking at the wars in the folds of his side. Then he said: "O Allah, bless the Ansar and the descendants of the Ansar."
