أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ

كُنَّا إِذَا كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَدُعِينَا إِلَى طَعَامٍ وَلَمْ نَضَعْ أَيْدِيَنَا حَتَّى يَضَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَدَهُ فَدُعِينَا إِلَى طَعَامٍ فَلَمْ يَضَعْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَدَهُ فَكَفَفْنَا أَيْدِيَنَا فَجَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ كَأَنَّمَا يُطْرَدُ فَأَهْوَى بِيَدِهِ إِلَى الْقَصْعَةِ فَأَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِيَدِهِ فَأَجْلَسَهُ ثُمَّ جَاءَتْ جَارِيَةٌ فَأَهْوَتْ بِيَدِهَا إِلَى الْقَصْعَةِ فَأَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِيَدِهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَمَّا أَعْيَاهُ أَنْ نَدَعَ ذِكْرَ اسْمِ اللهِ عَلَى طَعَامِنَا جَاءَ بِهَذَا الْأَعْرَابِيِّ يَسْتَحِلُّ بِهِ طَعَامَنَا فَلَمَّا حَبَسْنَاهُ جَاءَ بِهَذِهِ الْجَارِيَةِ لَيَسْتَحِلُّ بِهَا طَعَامَنَا فَوَاللهِ إنَّ يَدَهُ فِي يَدِي مَعَ يَدِهَا» ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ اسْمَ اللهِ فَأَكَلَ

✧ We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and when we were invited to food, we did not put our hands until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ put his hand. We were invited to food, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not put his hand, so we withheld our hands. Then a Bedouin came as if he were being driven, and he reached his hand to the bowl, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took his hand and seated him. Then a slave girl came and reached her hand to the bowl, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took her hand. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Satan, when he despaired of making us omit the mention of Allah's name over our food, brought this Bedouin to make our food permissible for himself through him. When we restrained him, he brought this slave girl to make our food permissible for herself through her. By Allah, his hand is in my hand along with her hand." Then he mentioned the name of Allah and ate.
