I say to you only as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say. He used to say: allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika mina al-ʿajzi wa-l-kasal wa-l-jubn wa-l-bukhl wa-l-haram wa-ʿadhābi al-qabr. allāhumma āti nafsī taqwāhā wa-zakkihā anta khayru man zakkāhā, anta waliyyuhā wa-mawlāhā. allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min ʿilmin lā yanfaʿ, wa-min qalbin lā yakhshaʿ, wa-min nafsin lā tashbaʿ, wa-min daʿwatin lā yustajābu lahā (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from helplessness, laziness, cowardice, miserliness, old age, and the punishment of the grave. O Allah, grant my soul its taqwa and purify it; You are the best of those who purify it. You are its Protector and its Master. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, from a heart that does not humble itself, from a soul that is not satisfied, and from a supplication that is not answered.)
