The Virtue Of One Whose Child Dies And He Seeks Reward

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ طَلْقِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ النَّخَعِيِّ أَبِي غِيَاثٍ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ جَرِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِابْنٍ لَهَا فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهُ يَشْتَكِي وَإِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْهِ قَدْ دَفَنْتُ ثَلاَثَةً قَالَ لَقَدِ احْتَظَرْتِ بِحِظَارٍ شَدِيدٍ مِنَ النَّارِ

Messenger of Allah, he is ailing, and I am afraid (that he may die), as I have already buried three. Thereupon he said: It (their sad demise) would be a protection against Hell-Fire for you. Zuhair has not mentioned the kunya of Abu Ghiyath; he has mentioned his name.
