حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ مِنْ وَلَدِ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا زُرْعَةَ يُذْكَرُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِوَلَدٍ لَهَا مَرِيضٍ يَدْعُو لَهُ بِالشِّفَاءِ وَالْعَافِيَةِ فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَدْ مَاتَ لِي ثَلَاثَةٌ، قَالَ: فِي الْإِسْلَامِ ؟ قَالَتْ: فِي الْإِسْلَامِ، فَقَالَ: مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ يُقَدِّمُ ثَلَاثَةً فِي الْإِسْلَامِ لَمْ يَبْلُغُوا الْحِنْثَ، يَحْتَسِبُهُمْ إِلَّا احْتَظَرَ بِحَظْرٍ مِنَ النَّارِ.

Translation

✧ A woman came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a sick child of hers, asking him to pray for healing and well-being. She said: O Messenger of Allah, three of my children have died. He asked: In Islam? She said: In Islam. He said: No Muslim who offers up three children in Islam before they reach the age of accountability, seeking reward from Allah, but they will be a barrier for him from the Fire.
