Sahih Muslim 1273a

It is permissible to circumambulate the Ka'bah on a camel and the like, And for one who is riding to touch the (black) stone with a crooked staff and the like.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ

طَافَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِالْبَيْتِ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ يَسْتَلِمُ الْحَجَرَ بِمِحْجَنِهِ لأَنْ يَرَاهُ النَّاسُ وَلِيُشْرِفَ وَلِيَسْأَلُوهُ فَإِنَّ النَّاسَ غَشُوهُ

Jabir (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Messenger of Allah ﷺ circumambulated the House on the back of his riding camel on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage and touched the Stone with his stick so that the people should see him, and he should be conspicuous, and they should be able to ask him (questions pertaining to religion) as the people had crowded round him.
