قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَالِكٌ وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عِيسَى أَخْبَرَنِي مَالِكٌ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنْ حُمَيْدَةَ ابْنَةِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ عَنْ كَبْشَةَ بِنْتِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ وَكَانَتْ تَحْتَ ابْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ
أَنَّ أَبَا قَتَادَةَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا، فَسَكَبَتْ لَهُ وَضُوءَهُ، فَجَاءَتْ هِرَّةٌ تَشْرَبُ مِنْهُ، فَأَصْغَى لَهَا الْإِنَاءَ حَتَّى شَرِبَتْ. قَالَتْ كَبْشَةُ: فَرَآنِي أَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ: أَتَعْجَبِينَ يَا بِنْتَ أَخِي؟ فَقَالَتْ: نَعَمْ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: إِنَّهَا لَيْسَتْ بِنَجَسٍ؛ إِنَّهَا مِنَ الطَّوَّافِينَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَالطَّوَّافَاتِ. وَقَالَ إِسْحَاقُ: أَوِ الطَّوَّافَاتِ

✧ Abu Qatadah entered upon her, and she poured water for his ablution. A cat came to drink from it, so he tilted the vessel for it until it drank. Kabshah said: He saw me looking at him, and he said, 'Are you surprised, O daughter of my brother?' She said, 'Yes.' He said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: It is not impure; it is one of those that go around among you, male and female.' Ishaq said: 'or the female ones.'
