✧ The wife of 'Uthman b. Maz'un ؓ came to the wives of the Prophet ﷺ, and they saw that she was in a bad state, so they said to her: “There is no man in Quraysh richer than your husband!” She said: “We get nothing from him. As for his day, he fasts; as for his night, he stands in prayer.” He said: Then the Prophet ﷺ entered, and they mentioned that to him. He said: Then the Prophet ﷺ met him and said: “O 'Uthman, is there not for you an example in me?” He said: “And what is that, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ? May my father and mother be your ransom.” He ﷺ said: “As for you, you fast during the day and stand in prayer at night, but your family has a right over you, and your body has a right over you. So pray and sleep, and break the fast and fast.” He said: Then the woman came to them after that perfumed as if she were a bride, and they said to her: “What happened?” She said: “What happened to people has happened to us.”
