✧ While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sitting, we saw him laugh until his molars appeared. Umar ؓ said to him, "What made you laugh, O Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be your ransom?" He ﷺ said, "Two men from my Ummah knelt before the Lord of Might, may His majesty be exalted. One of them said, 'O Lord, take retribution for me from my brother.' Allah, Mighty and Exalted, said, 'Give your brother his due.' He said, 'O Lord, nothing of my good deeds remains.' He said, 'O Lord, then let him bear some of my burdens.'" He (the Prophet) said, "The eyes of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ overflowed with tears." Then he said, "Indeed that is a mighty day, in which people will need to have burdens carried for them. Allah, Blessed and Exalted, said to the claimant, 'Raise your eyes and look at the gardens.' He raised his head and said, 'O Lord, I see cities of silver and palaces of gold adorned with pearls. For which prophet is this? For which truthful one is this? For which martyr is this?' He said, 'This is for the one who pays the price.' He said, 'O Lord, who can possess that?' He (Allah), Majestic and High, said, 'You possess it.' He said, 'By what, O Lord?' He said, 'By pardoning your brother.' He said, 'O Lord, I have pardoned him.' Allah, Exalted, said, 'Take your brother by the hand and enter him into Paradise.'" Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said about that, "Fear Allah and make peace among yourselves, for Allah, Mighty and Exalted, will reconcile the believers on the Day of Resurrection."
