✧ While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sitting, we saw him laugh until his front teeth showed. ʿUmar said to him: "What made you laugh, O Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be your ransom?" He said: "Two men from my community knelt before the Lord of Might. One of them said: 'O Lord, take my right from my brother.' Allah, Blessed and Exalted, said to the claimant: 'What will you do with your brother, while none of his good deeds remain?' He said: 'O Lord, let him carry some of my burdens.'" He said: "And the eyes of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ overflowed with tears. Then he said: 'Indeed, that day is tremendous; people will need to have some of their burdens carried for them.' Then Allah, Exalted, said to the claimant: 'Raise your gaze and look at the gardens.' He raised his head and said: 'O Lord, I see cities of gold and palaces of gold crowned with pearls. For which prophet is this, or for which truthful one, or for which martyr?' He said: 'This is for the one who pays the price.' He said: 'O Lord, who can own that?' He said: 'You can own it.' He said: 'By what?' He said: 'By your pardoning your brother.' He said: 'O Lord, I have pardoned him.' Allah ﷻ said: 'Take your brother by the hand and enter him into Paradise.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said: 'Fear Allah and reconcile what is between you, for Allah, Exalted, reconciles between the Muslims.'"
