✧ The Description of the Resurrection

وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ، ثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، قَالَ:

جَلَسْنَا إِلَى جَنْبِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ ؓ، فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: يَبْلُغُ الْعَرَقُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنَ النَّاسِ، قَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا: إِلَى شَحْمَةِ أُذُنِهِ، وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ: إِلَى أَنْ يُلْجِمَهُ الْعَرَقُ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ ؓ: هَكَذَا. وَوَصَفَ أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، فَأَمَرَّ إِصْبَعَهُ مِنْ شَحْمَةِ أُذُنِهِ إِلَى فِيهِ، هَذَا وَذَاكَ سَوِيٌّ

Translation

✧ We sat beside Ibn Umar and Abu Sa'id ؓ. One of them said, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: The sweat will reach the people on the Day of Resurrection.' One of them said, 'Up to the lobe of his ear,' and the other said, 'Until the sweat bridles him.' Ibn Umar ؓ said, 'Thus.' And Abu Asim described it, passing his finger from the lobe of his ear to his mouth, saying, 'This and that are alike.'
