✧ The grave says to the dead person when he is placed in it: Woe to you, O son of Adam! What deceived you about me? Did you not know that I am the house of trial and the house of darkness? What deceived you about me when you used to pass by me with an arrogant gait? If he was righteous, a responder answers for him to the grave: Have you considered if he used to enjoin good and forbid evil? He said: Then the grave says: Then I shall return upon him as green, and his soul ascends to the Lord of the worlds. Then Ibn A'idh said to him: O Abu al-Hajjaj, what is the arrogant gait? He said: The one who advances one foot and delays the other, like your gait sometimes, O son of my brother. He said: And at that time he was wearing and adorning himself.
