machine translationYaḥyā b. Ḥammād narrated it from Shuʿbah, from Ḥabīb b. Abī Ṣāliḥ, from Jābir, that Muʿādh... He was contradicted by al-Naḍr b. Shumayl and Abū al-Walīd, who narrated it from Shuʿbah, from Ḥabīb, from Abū Ṣāliḥ, that Muʿādh... without mentioning Jābir in it. Al-Thawrī also narrated it, and there is disagreement about him. Abū Nuʿaym narrated it from al-Thawrī, from Ḥabīb, from Abū Ṣāliḥ, that Muʿādh... He was contradicted by Abū Aḥmad and Muʿāwiyah b. Hishām, who narrated it from al-Thawrī, from Ḥabīb, from Abū Ṣāliḥ, from Muʿādh b. Jabal. Likewise Ḥamzah al-Zayyāt narrated it from Ḥabīb, from Abū Ṣāliḥ, from Muʿādh. The disconnected (mursal) version is more sound (aṣaḥḥ).
