What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

  • Abū Zakariyyā Yaḥyá b. Sharaf al-Nawawī

machine translationThis hadith cannot be used as evidence, and it is weak (ḍaʿīf).

    in المطالب العالية, p. 54

machine translationWe do not know of any hadith in this chapter other than this one, and it is a very strange (gharīb) hadith that is not narrated except through this chain. Muʿāwiyah b. Ṣāliḥ al-Makkī is lenient and weak (layyin, ḍaʿīf), and Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān is unknown (majhūl) and not identified, so the hadith is interrupted (munqaṭiʿ).

    in المطالب العالية, p. 54
  • Ibn Daqīq al-ʿĪd

machine translationThis hadith has the ruling of an interrupted (munqaṭiʿ) one, because of the unknown identity of the man from Banū Mudlij.

    in المطالب العالية, p. 54

machine translationIt is a hadith that is not established.

    in المطالب العالية, p. 54
