✧ I was sitting with Ali ؓ while he was busy with some matter of the people, when a man came wearing travel clothes and said: O Commander of the Faithful. Ali ؓ was occupied with what he was doing in the matter of the people. My father said: I said to him: What is your affair? He said: I was on Hajj—or Umrah—and I passed by Aisha ؓ. She said to me and asked me about these people who went out among you, called al-Haruriyyah. I said: They went out at a place called Harura', so they were named al-Haruriyyah after that. She ؓ said: Blessed is the one who witnessed their destruction. She said: By God, if the son of Abi Talib wished, he would inform you of their affair. So that is why I came to ask him about that. He said: Ali ؓ finished and said: Where is the questioner? He stood up to him and related to him, and Ali ؓ proclaimed the talbiyah and said Allahu Akbar two or three times. Then he mentioned the like of it. At the end he said: You dragged him as I described to you. He said: Then he ؓ said: God and His Messenger have spoken the truth, three times.
